Apple users who recently updated to iOS 18.3.1 and macOS 15.3.1 this week have reported a bug where Apple Intelligence is being re-enabled despite them previously disabling it. Developer Jeff Johnson highlighted this issue, noting that the bug affects some users after the recent software updates. The reactivation of Apple Intelligence can lead to preferences being reset, such as Notification summaries and Mail categorization. Although users can easily disable Apple Intelligence again in Settings, this bug has caught some off guard. Apple is expected to address this issue promptly, as they aim to provide improved AI tools with the upcoming iOS 18.4 release. This bug serves as a reminder for users to review their settings and opt-in to Apple Intelligence features intentionally.
