Many creatives are actually optimistic about the effects of AI

Recent research conducted by Monotype has revealed that a vast majority of creatives, around 91%, consider AI tools to be beneficial for their work, contrary to the common belief that creatives are opposed to AI technology. The survey, consisting of nearly 5,000 participants, highlighted the positive impact of AI on creative tasks, with many creatives expressing optimism and excitement about the transformative potential of AI in their industries.

According to the study, creatives particularly appreciate AI and automation for tasks such as visualizing typography, suggesting font pairings, streamlining workflows, and facilitating the discovery of new fonts. The findings challenge the misconception that creatives are resistant to AI, with only 21% expressing pessimism towards the technology.

The research also emphasizes the growing trend of subscription-based software among creatives, with 89% using at least one platform and an average of four software subscriptions per worker. Popular software options include Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Shutterstock, Picsart, Kittl, and Monotype Fonts.

In light of these insights, it is clear that creatives generally welcome AI and AI-enabled tools for their ability to enhance, amplify, and accelerate human creativity, ultimately democratizing design and improving the overall creative process. It is evident that AI is seen as a valuable asset by the creative community, enabling them to work more efficiently and effectively.
