Housemarque, the developer behind Returnal, has announced its upcoming game Saros, a third-person action game set to release on PS5 and PS5 Pro in 2026. The game was revealed during Sony’s State of Play event with a captivating cinematic trailer, promising a fresh gameplay experience compared to their previous title. Saros will follow the story of Arjun Devraj, portrayed by actor Rahul Kohli, as he navigates a mysterious off-world colony on Carcosa under an eerie eclipse.
The game aims to provide a deep narrative experience while introducing a departure from the roguelike system in Returnal by implementing permanent progression mechanics. Players will have the opportunity to upgrade their arsenal and character loadout after each death, adding a strategic element to gameplay. Housemarque also plans to optimize Saros for the advanced capabilities of the PS5 Pro, ensuring enhanced performance upon release.
