New K-Drama series “Newtopia” starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in her second K-Drama role is set to premiere on Prime Video and South Korean streaming service Coupang Play on February 7. The series, set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, follows soldier Jae-yoon (Park Jeong-min) who faces a breakup with Young-joo (Jisoo) just before chaos ensues. As the city of Seoul grapples with the virus outbreak, Young-joo seeks to reunite with Jae-yoon amidst the mayhem, creating a compelling narrative of love and survival.

Directed by Yoon Sang-hyun, known for movies like “Bleak Night” and “Time to Hunt,” and featuring co-writer Han-Jin won, known for his work on “Parasite,” “Newtopia” promises to deliver a gripping storyline with a blend of drama and humor reminiscent of the popular series “Squid Game.” The one-minute trailer offers a glimpse into the dystopian world of “Newtopia,” building anticipation for its release next month. With its engaging plot and talented cast, including Jisoo in a captivating new role, the series is poised to captivate audiences and make its mark in the realm of K-Dramas.
