Prime Video renews Secret Level for season 2, and I hope it levels up its gaming anthology series next time around

Secret Level has been confirmed for a second season on Prime Video, despite mixed reviews for its first season among critics and fans. The decision to bring back the series follows the recent release of the final episodes of season 1 on December 17. The upcoming season’s release date, cast details, and storyline are yet to be disclosed.
The anthology series, which features notable voices like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, and Keanu Reeves, explores various gaming worlds such as Dungeons & Dragons, Sifu, New World, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000. Season 1 received a 67% Rotten Tomatoes critical score and faced criticism for appearing as “hollow, cash-grab-esque advertisements”. While audiences have given it a decent ‘Popcornmeter’ score of 82%, the series has room for improvement to win over critics.
As viewers anticipate the next season, the show’s creators have the opportunity to address feedback and enhance the series’ quality. The future of Secret Level on Prime Video will be closely watched, awaiting Amazon and Blur Studio’s creative direction.
