Microsoft has decided to close its flagship retail store located in London’s Oxford Circus. The store, known as the “Experience Centre,” opened in July 2019 and offered a unique combination of retail space, demo zones, and press briefing areas. The decision to end the lease early is part of Microsoft’s strategy to focus more on digital growth initiatives. The 21,000 square foot store spread across three floors will shut down in February 2025, after six years of operation. Despite the closure, Microsoft products will still be showcased in partner retailers throughout the city. This move marks the end of Microsoft’s standalone physical presence in the UK capital, unlike its competitors Apple and Google.
