The Witcher 4’s narrative director acknowledges the potential controversy in choosing Ciri as the protagonist but believes in the decision. Phillipp Weber mentions that while some fans may prefer Geralt, they aim to offer intriguing elements with Ciri leading the narrative. CD Projekt Red had planned Ciri’s role well in advance and sees it as a natural progression from the existing storyline. Despite initial concerns, fans have expressed positive feedback, supporting the choice and eagerly anticipating the game’s release, set to showcase new regions while maintaining a similar map size to The Witcher 3. Additionally, CD Projekt Red plans a special concert to honor ten years of The Witcher 3, and news of Sony becoming the primary shareholder of FromSoftware owner Kadokawa has been confirmed.
