Adobe’s latest update to Acrobat AI Assistant introduces a breakthrough feature called “contract intelligence,” aiming to assist users in navigating through complex contractual information more effectively. The new feature automatically identifies contracts within PDF files, generates easy-to-understand summaries, highlights key terms, and provides citations for validation purposes. In addition, it enables users to compare up to 10 different versions of a contract to ensure consistency and identify any discrepancies.

Research by Adobe reveals that a significant number of consumers and small business owners often encounter unexpected terms in contracts post-signing, emphasizing the need for tools like contract intelligence. The update aims to address this issue by shedding light on crucial details within contracts, such as deposit rules, cancellation policies, and hidden fees, bringing greater transparency and understanding to users. This enhanced functionality is part of the broader Acrobat AI Assistant suite, available for $4.99 per month with an annual commitment.

VP for Product Marketing at Adobe, Michi Alexander, underlines the importance of leveraging AI to empower individuals and businesses to approach contracts with clarity and confidence, transforming what was once a source of stress into an opportunity for inquiry. This development follows Adobe’s recent improvements in e-signature experience within Acrobat, signifying the brand’s commitment to enhancing user reliability and experience across various devices.
