China is making significant advancements in broadband infrastructure by introducing 50G-PON technology, capable of delivering speeds up to 50Gbps downstream. A recent report from Dell’Oro Group forecasts growth in PON equipment revenue, with China leading the way in 50G-PON deployments. This technology is part of the broader shift towards Fiber to the Room (FTTR) setups, which provide direct fiber-optic connections to individual rooms for faster speeds and more stable connections.
