Obsidian’s upcoming role-playing game (RPG) Avowed is set to run at a smooth 60 frames per second on the Xbox Series X, confirms game director Carrie Patel. This is great news for players with the more powerful console, as it ensures a high-quality gaming experience. However, Xbox Series S users will have to settle for a maximum of 30fps.

The confirmation of Avowed’s performance capabilities on consoles brings relief to fans who were concerned about achieving the 60fps target, especially after past performance issues with other RPG titles. The game’s optimization for consoles may also hint at improved performance for the PC version.

Avowed, set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, follows the journey of the envoy of the Aedyran emperor in combating the spreading plague known as the Dreamscourge in The Living Lands. The game promises an expansive world akin to Obsidian’s previous works such as The Outer Worlds and Fallout New Vegas.

Scheduled for release on February 18 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, Avowed also offers a Premium Edition with early access starting from February 13. Stay tuned for an immersive RPG experience with Avowed.
