OnePlus has officially announced that the much-anticipated OnePlus Open 2 will not be hitting the market in 2025. The decision was shared by Vale G., the project manager of the OnePlus Open series, in a note on the OnePlus Community forum. Despite the absence of a new foldable device this year, Vale G. emphasized that this move does not indicate a complete departure from the foldable category for OnePlus. Instead, it is seen as a strategic pause or recalibration in their approach.
The original OnePlus Open was launched in 2023, and many were anticipating its successor, presumed to be the OnePlus Open 2, to be released soon. However, with the delay of the OnePlus Open 2 and the spotlight now on Oppo’s Find N5, OnePlus seems to be redirecting its focus within the foldable market. The Oppo Find N5 is set to make its way to the UK and Europe this month, hinting at a potential shift in OnePlus’ strategy.
