Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming service currently has no available plans for new subscribers, including day passes and full subscriptions. The return of day passes is expected in approximately two weeks, while the reactivation of monthly and biannual subscriptions may take longer due to Nvidia transitioning to a new payment system. Existing subscribers will not be billed during this transition period until at least January 31, 2025.

The disruption in subscription availability is attributed to Nvidia shifting from a third-party payment processing system to an in-house setup, a process expected to last a minimum of 5 weeks. This move, though causing inconvenience to potential new users, showcases Nvidia’s dedication to enhancing GeForce Now in the long term. The impact of high demand on servers leading to the temporary suspension of subscription plans adds complexity to the ongoing transition.

There is currently no information on whether existing subscribers will need to re-enter payment information under the new system. However, despite the temporary inconvenience, the expectation is that service will resume smoothly once the transition period is over, likely benefiting from any server or infrastructure upgrades carried out during this time. This period of subscription disruption coincides with Nvidia addressing server capacity issues, hinting at potential improvements for the cloud gaming service.
