Clop Ransomware Gang Hits Cleo File-Transfer Services with Zero-Day Exploit
The notorious cybercriminal group known as CLOP ransomware gang has recently come forward claiming responsibility for launching zero-day attacks on Cleo’s file-transfer services. By exploiting a previously unknown vulnerability in Cleo’s software, the group managed to infiltrate the systems of multiple companies.
According to sources, the hackers have successfully stolen valuable data from a significant number of companies that rely on Cleo as a key provider of IT supply chain software. In a recent update on the dark web, CLOP gang issued a stark warning to its victims, declaring that all data links belonging to the affected companies would be permanently disabled, with the compromised data set to be wiped from the servers without any chance of recovery. Moving forward, the group stated that they would only engage with new companies, signaling a shift in their nefarious activities.
