Google Drive has released a significant update for its Android app, bringing major improvements to document scanning. The update includes automatic enhancements such as reducing shadows, fixing lighting issues, and more, aiming to provide users with crisp and clear document scans effortlessly. These enhancements are designed to streamline the scanning process and eliminate the need for manual adjustments, making it easier for users to digitize their paper documents into higher quality images quickly.

The new feature will be rolled out to Google Workspace and personal accounts, starting with Rapid Release users and reaching Scheduled Release users by January 2025. While the update is currently exclusive to Android users, there is no confirmation yet on its availability for iOS users. Once fully implemented, this enhancement could revolutionize the scanning experience by addressing common issues like poor lighting and shadows, ultimately improving the overall quality of scanned documents.
