Google is set to enhance the Emergency SOS feature on its Pixel Watch by adding a new gesture to help reduce accidental emergency calls. The latest code in the Pixel Watch app hints at a “Touch & hold to call” option, allowing users to quickly press the crown five times and then touch & hold the screen for 3 seconds to call for help. This feature aims to combat the issue of pocket-dialing emergency services, which is also a concern with Apple Watch models. Accidental calls to 911 can strain emergency resources, as seen in incidents reported in various locations. The introduction of this new feature is expected to address the problem, although the exact release date is unknown.
