VIPRE, a leading security outfit, analyzed a massive 7.2 billion emails in 2024, identifying 858 million instances of spam. Over 90% of these emails were found to contain unsolicited commercial messages and malicious phishing attempts. The United States emerged as the top spam sender, followed by the UK. Emerging threats for 2025 include QR code phishing and deepfake adoption, with malspam and phishing attacks evolving in tactics and targets.
