Apple’s lack of support for eGPU may be a thing of the past as Sparkle’s latest unveiling at CES 2025 introduces the Sparkle eGPU Studio-G 850. This innovative product integrates Thunderbolt 5 technology, offering an impressive data throughput of 120Gbps, a significant advancement from the previous Thunderbolt 3 standard. Additionally, the Studio-G 850 boasts an 850W power supply, enhancing compatibility with high-performance desktop graphics cards that demand more power.

The Studio-G 850, with dimensions of 403 x 200 x 237 mm, provides ample space for GPUs, featuring three slot brackets for easy installation. It also includes two USB-C ports, three USB-A ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet socket for seamless network integration. However, Mac users may be disappointed as the Studio-G 850 is not compatible with Apple’s Apple Silicon processors due to the lack of eGPU support. Though the official price and release date remain undisclosed, the product’s presence at CES 2025 hints at a possible imminent launch.

Exciting advancements in external GPU technology such as the Sparkle eGPU Studio-G 850 open new possibilities for enhanced performance and compatibility for enthusiastic users seeking improved graphics capabilities.
