Lenovo introduces its new premium business laptops, the ThinkPad X9 14 and X9 15 Aura Editions, at CES 2025. These laptops are equipped with Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) processors, Intel Arc Xe2 graphics, up to 32GB LPDDR5x RAM, and support for up to 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage. Despite their flagship status, these laptops continue to use PCIe 4.0 connectivity.

The laptops feature dual Thunderbolt 4 ports for easy docking, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a glass haptic touchpad, a redesigned keyboard, and an 8MP MIPI camera with IR support and dual noise-canceling microphones for video conferencing. The main differences between the X9 14 and X9 15 lie in display size, battery capacity, and weight.

The X9 14 boasts a 14-inch OLED display in two configurations, weighing 2.66 lbs with a 55Wh battery. On the other hand, the X9 15 features a 15.3-inch OLED screen, a larger 80Wh battery, and weighs 3.19 lbs. Both laptops offer customer-replaceable batteries using 100% recycled cobalt cells, which prolong the devices’ lifespan and reduce reliance on new materials.

Lenovo’s move to recycled cobalt follows in the footsteps of Apple and Dell, aligning with industry trends. The ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition starts at $1,399, and the X9 15 Aura Edition at $1,549, with availability set for February 2025.
