Lenovo, a global tech giant, has announced groundbreaking plans to establish its new MEA HQ in Saudi Arabia. This move comes as part of a $2 billion investment collaboration with Saudi Public Investment Fund company Alat to boost Lenovo’s growth and presence worldwide. The investment will focus on supply chain, technology, and manufacturing, aiming to create 1,000 new jobs in the region.

As a strategic part of increasing its footprint in the Middle East and Africa, Lenovo will construct a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia to produce millions of PCs and servers annually, with operations expected to commence by 2026. The company is committed to utilizing local R&D expertise to develop “Saudi Made” products, highlighting a strong dedication to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Lenovo’s CEO, Yuanqing Yang, emphasized the significance of this partnership in leveraging the region’s growth potential. Alat’s CEO, Amit Midha, expressed confidence in Lenovo’s capabilities to expand across the MEA region through establishing a regional hub in Riyadh powered by clean energy.

In its recent financial report, Lenovo reported impressive revenue growth in its Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) and Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), showing a 15% and 65% increase respectively. With this ambitious move and robust financial performance, Lenovo is poised for further success in the dynamic MEA market.
