Lenovo’s latest innovation in the gaming world shines through at CES 2025 with the launch of the Lenovo Legion Go S, a promising new addition to the PC gaming handheld market. One key feature that sets it apart is its SteamOS license, promising a similar gaming experience to the renowned Steam Deck but on more advanced hardware. The Legion Go S will be available in both Windows and SteamOS versions, with the latter coming in a stylish Nebula Violet color.
Powering these handhelds are the option of either the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip or the exclusive AMD Ryzen Z2 Go chip made specifically for the Legion Go S. The device boasts impressive specs, including up to 32GB of faster 7500MT/s LPDDR5X memory, up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, and a stunning 8.8-inch 1920 x 1200p OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 500 nits brightness.
In addition to the Legion Go S, Lenovo also teased a prototype for the Legion Go 2, continuing the innovative design of its predecessor with detachable Joy-Con-like controllers and a built-in kickstand for immersive gaming experiences. While the specs are subject to change as it’s still in the prototype stage, the showcased unit features the new Ryzen Z2 processor and impressive display capabilities.
Lenovo’s foray into the PC gaming handheld market seems promising, offering a blend of performance, design, and user experience that could potentially rival competitors like the Steam Deck.
