One of these tools, Jobs Match, utilizes AI to assess how well a candidate’s profile aligns with a job’s requirements, assisting them in finding the most suitable positions. On the other hand, HR professionals, particularly from smaller businesses, can leverage the recruitment platform’s AI agent to streamline processes such as creating job ads, identifying qualified candidates, and evaluating their suitability.

In response to the global skills shortage, LinkedIn has made these tools available to all users for free, with premium subscribers receiving access to more detailed information. These AI tools mark a significant advancement for LinkedIn, utilizing the platform’s proprietary models and internal data instead of relying on external AI models like OpenAI’s. Research by LinkedIn indicates that a significant percentage of hirers struggle to find candidates that meet their criteria, with an increasing number of recruiters finding the hiring process more challenging than ever before.

A majority of job positions listed on LinkedIn’s UK Jobs on the Rise list did not even exist 25 years ago, underscoring the evolving job market landscape facing recruiters. Rohan Rajiv, Product Manager at LinkedIn, highlighted the inefficiencies in the current application screening process, noting that a substantial amount of time is wasted on evaluating applications that do not meet the required criteria. By introducing these innovative AI tools, LinkedIn aims to help recruiters adapt to the dynamic job market and navigate the complexities of modern hiring practices.
