Amid financial and operational challenges, Lycamobile UK has warned around 90% of its workforce, comprising an estimated 300+ employees, about potential job cuts in a major restructuring move. The telecom company, famous for its pay-as-you-go SIM cards, faces internal inefficiencies and legal troubles, including a staggering unpaid VAT bill in the UK and a €10 million fine in France for money laundering and VAT fraud. With roles like customer service possibly shifting abroad, impacted employees will undergo consultation and could be laid off no earlier than January 31, 2025.
