Microsoft has teamed up with US-based uBreakiFix and UK-based Currys to offer repair services for Xbox Series X and Series S consoles as a strategy to tackle the growing problem of electronic waste.

In the US, uBreakiFix, now an authorized Xbox Service Provider, will handle in-warranty repairs for various Xbox models, including the Xbox Series X Digital Edition and the 2TB Galaxy Black version. Users can schedule repairs online or drop off their consoles in-store, with in-store fixes typically taking only a few days. However, repairs for Xbox One consoles still require Microsoft’s assistance.

Meanwhile, in the UK, Currys has been appointed as an Xbox Authorized Service Provider. Customers can visit Currys stores or send their consoles to Europe’s largest tech repair center in Newark for repairs. This service aims to reduce electronic waste by allowing players to maintain their current consoles rather than replacing them entirely.

This initiative underscores a shared commitment between Microsoft and its partners to promote sustainability and prolong the lifespan of gaming equipment, providing players with convenient and environmentally friendly repair solutions.
