Microsoft really wants you to update to Windows 11 in 2025

Microsoft has declared 2025 as ‘the year of the Windows 11 PC refresh’, aiming to boost the adoption of Windows 11 in light of the upcoming end of life for Windows 10. During CES 2025, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President highlighted the introduction of Copilot+ PCs, featuring new artificial intelligence advancements, and claimed that these PCs outperform current-generation MacBook Air in terms of speed and AI performance. Despite the struggles with Windows 11 adoption, Microsoft remains optimistic with research indicating that a significant number of businesses and consumers are likely to upgrade their PC devices by the end of 2025. Additionally, IDC research shows a promising trend towards AI-equipped PCs, with Windows PCs, including Copilot+ models, holding a significant market share. Microsoft believes that Windows 11 offers advanced AI capabilities and enhanced security features that align with customers’ expectations for 2025 and beyond.
