Microsoft’s mission to improve Windows 11 actually pays off with improved webcam tools

Microsoft is currently testing Windows 11 (Build 26120.2702) with a new feature that allows multiple apps to access the webcam simultaneously, a capability users have long requested. This update, being trialed by Windows Insider program members, aims to improve accessibility for users who rely on webcams for communication. In addition to this multi-app camera feature, Microsoft is also working on advanced webcam settings to enhance user control over resolution, frame rate, and media type. The new feature is a welcome addition to Windows 11, offering a practical change from previous updates that focused on less desirable features. The success of this testing phase could lead to the feature being included in an upcoming official Windows 11 update.
