Mojang Studios has unveiled the details of Minecraft’s upcoming public testing update. The patch introduces two new cow variations, two types of bushes, and new ambient sounds specifically for desert biomes. Players can expect these exciting features to be included in Minecraft’s initial update for 2025.

In this latest announcement, Mojang revealed that players can now test out these new additions through the latest Java snapshot. Notable additions include the introduction of a “cold cow” with a fluffy coat for cozy vibes in cold biomes and the “auburn warm cow” found in sandy areas. Additionally, players will encounter the enchanting “firefly bush” that spawns fireflies at night, brightening up dark spots, and a simple “bush” that adds greenery to various biomes.

Moreover, the update brings new ambient sounds to desert biomes, enhancing the immersive experience for players roaming these terrains. Players can listen for whispers of sand and other desert sounds emanating from sand and terracotta blocks. The dead bush will also add atmospheric touches like crickets chirping and wind howling.

These fresh features, complemented by previous gameplay additions, are now accessible in Minecraft: Java Edition. Players eager to try out the update can activate snapshots for Java Edition or enable previews for Bedrock Edition.

In related news, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has released a second hotfix addressing crashes and frame rate bugs. The ID@Xbox showcase is slated for later this month, and BioWare has made changes, parting ways with Dragon Age developers to focus on Mass Effect 5.
