Over half of job seekers in the UK have utilized artificial intelligence to improve their resumes, with Gen Z job seekers leading at around 65%, according to recent research by Canva. Most hiring managers (91%) agree that a strong digital professional brand gives candidates an advantage in the job market.

Interestingly, 97% of UK candidates using AI on their CVs have successfully secured interviews, showing a growing acceptance of AI in the recruitment process. On the flip side, 90% of hiring managers have also turned to AI to aid in the hiring process, such as summarizing CVs and screening applications.

Despite this, 63% of hiring managers believe that candidates should disclose their use of AI, as transparency during interviews can reveal their ethics and soft skills. HR teams are now expecting candidates to present portfolios (80%) and interactive resumes (71%) in addition to traditional CVs.

As the global skills shortage continues, candidates must enhance their applications and personal brands to stand out. Leveraging social media, design tools, and embracing AI are highlighted as key strategies for job seekers to unlock new opportunities and secure their dream job.
