New details have emerged regarding the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, with potential leaks hinting at exciting new features. According to reports, the upcoming console may simply be named “Nintendo Switch 2” and could include magnetic Joy-Con controllers.

These leaks come from a Reddit user known as ‘NextHandheld’ who claims to have access to a Nintendo Switch 2 retail unit. The user provided images of a possible Switch 2 dock and controller design, fueling speculation that the console may be unveiled as early as January. The dock resembles the original Switch design but with a new logo featuring the number two.

The leaked information also suggests that the Nintendo Switch 2 dock will have limited ports compared to the OLED version, including USB-A and USB-C connectors, an HDMI port, and an ethernet port. The controllers are rumored to be magnetically attached, with improved Hall effect thumbsticks to address Joy-Con drift issues. Additionally, the console is said to feature a redesigned ‘U’ shaped kickstand.

While these details seem promising, it’s important to note that the source is anonymous and unverified. Fans will have to wait for an official announcement to confirm the authenticity of these claims. Exciting times lie ahead for Nintendo enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the next generation of gaming.
