Nikon launches two cheaper RED cinema cameras plus its own cine lens – and it’s a sucker punch to Canon

Nikon’s RED takeover continues as they announce Z-mount versions of the RED V-Raptor and RED Komodo cinema cameras, alongside the launch of the Nikkor Z 28-135mm F/4 PZ cine lens. Since acquiring RED Digital Cameras, Nikon has revolutionized the cinema camera industry with these new offerings, showing off improved autofocus capabilities and compatibility with Nikon Z-mount lenses, including the new cine lens. The RED Komodo 6K bundles have seen significant price drops, making them more accessible to professionals. Additionally, Nikon has integrated RED tech into their own cameras, enhancing video capabilities and color profiles. The industry eagerly anticipates further advancements resulting from Nikon’s collaboration with RED.
