PC sales are rising once again, and it’s probably no surprise who is leading the way

Global PC shipments reached 255.5 million in 2024, reflecting a 3.8% increase compared to the previous year. Lenovo stands out as a market leader, holding 24.2% market share. The PC market has shown positive growth trends, especially in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a 4.6% rise fueled by strong Christmas sales and discounts. Canalys analysts predict a potential acceleration in growth driven by increased adoption of AI-capable PCs and the upcoming end-of-service for Windows 10. The market is witnessing a shift towards AI PCs, which are expected to make up 35% of shipments in the current year. This growth is attributed to factors such as vendor discounts, holiday promotions, and the popularity of Buy Now, Pay Later schemes. Despite experiencing a modest yearly increase, the PC market is showing signs of recovery and potential for expansion in the near future.
