Philips unveiled two innovative smart locks at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, marking its entry into the world of smart home technology. The highlight of the announcement is the Philips 4000 Series Smart Deadbolt, which is compatible with the Matter smart home standard. This means that the lock can seamlessly integrate with various smart home devices and platforms, offering convenience and flexibility to users.

Moreover, Philips introduced the 5000 Series Video Palm Recognition Smart Lock, featuring advanced technology that can identify the unique blood vessel pattern in a person’s hand for secure access. This model also includes a 1080p HD video camera to monitor visitors, eliminating the need for a separate video doorbell.

Both locks are set to hit the market in the second half of 2025, promising easy setup and integration with popular smart home ecosystems such as Apple HomeKit, Google Nest, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. With built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and voice command support, these smart locks aim to enhance home security and convenience for users.

Stay tuned for updates on pricing and performance reviews once the Philips smart locks become available later this year.
