Philips has unveiled the latest addition to the noise-canceling headphone market, the Philips H8000E. These over-ear headphones boast features such as ANC, customization via the Philips Headphones app, Bluetooth LE Audio with the next-gen LC3 codec, Bluetooth Auracast, and a remarkable 50-hour battery life with ANC on (70 hours without). Notably, the headphones also come with easily replaceable batteries for sustainability and repairability.
Despite the abundance of features, the price of the Philips H8000E remains undisclosed, labeled simply as “mid-range” by Philips. The headphones are set to launch in September 2025 in the US, UK, and Europe, presenting them with an interesting competition against the upcoming Sony WH-1000XM6 and potentially lower prices for the existing Sony WH-1000XM5.
With advantages like extended battery life and support for advanced codecs like LC3 and LDAC, the Philips H8000E positions itself as a contender in the premium headphone segment. The headphones offer five levels of noise cancellation, AI microphone technology for improved call quality, a travel-friendly folding design, and sustainable features like recycled plastic construction and easily replaceable batteries.
As the release date approaches, Philips aims to ensure that the H8000E remains competitive in terms of sound quality, features, and pricing within a rapidly evolving headphone market. Keep an eye out for potential updates not only from Sony but also from other contenders like Sennheiser in the months leading up to the launch.
