The breach, carried out by an unidentified threat actor, involved the theft of sensitive data including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, medical information, and grades. The attack affected 6,505 school districts in the US, Canada, and other countries, with major districts such as Toronto District School Board and Dallas Independent School District being most impacted. PowerSchool has responded by offering two years of complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services to affected individuals.
