Sennheiser has launched the HD 505, the latest addition to its more ‘analytical’ line of headphones. Positioned as an entry-level option in the 500-series lineup, the HD 505 boasts improved bass and treble extension with enhanced transparency for music. Priced at $249 / £229, they offer an affordable alternative to the HD 600 model. The HD 505 features a frequency range of 12Hz – 38.5kHz, 38mm drivers, and 120 ohms impedance. They come with a 1.8m cable, a 3.5mm plug, and a 6.3mm adapter. In a comparison with the HD 600, the HD 505 showcases bigger bass and treble impact but lacks the naturalness and spaciousness found in the mid-range of the HD 600. While the HD 505 offers high energy sound, the HD 600 boasts a more unified and natural soundstage. Despite the competitive pricing, the HD 505 may find it challenging to surpass the popularity of the HD 600. The Sennheiser HD 505 is now available on Amazon, with a comprehensive review coming soon.
