Sony’s next flagship headphones leak in official docs, and now I’m getting excited

Sony has filed details of their upcoming Sony WH-1000MX6 headphones with the US FCC, suggesting improvements over the current model WH-1000MX5 in both build and sound quality. The new model is described as a Wireless Noise Canceling Stereo Headset with a similar battery voltage to its predecessor. The Bluetooth 5.3 capability hints at potential Bluetooth LE Audio support, and a redesigned hinge addresses past durability concerns. While an official launch date is unspecified, the confidentiality of the FCC filing is set to expire in July 2025, hinting at a possible summer release. Despite the success of the XM5, Sony aims to impress with the 2025 model, possibly offering compelling features that set it apart as a must-have for consumers.
