Tata Technologies confirms ransomware attack, says investigation still ongoing

Tata Technologies has informed the Indian stock exchange about a ransomware attack that impacted parts of its IT operations. The company stated that it discovered the incident, leading to a temporary suspension of some IT services as a precautionary measure, which have since been restored without affecting client delivery services. However, the attackers, methods of intrusion, and extent of network impact remain undisclosed, pending further investigation by Tata Technologies. The conglomerate, part of the Tata Group, has been previously targeted by cybercriminals, with Hive Ransomware hitting Tata Power in the past. Despite these challenges, Tata Power refused to pay the ransom demand. This incident underscores the ongoing threat to Indian critical infrastructure from cyber attacks.
