Google has officially released the first public beta version of Android 16, opening the door for early users to explore the new features. One of the latest additions is Live Updates, Google’s take on iOS’s Live Activities, designed to help users track and access ongoing activities efficiently. Currently recommended for ride-sharing, food delivery, and navigation apps, this feature is expected to expand to cover more categories in the future. The beta also includes enhancements for larger screens, high-resolution video recording, predictive back experiences, and preparations for deeper Gemini integration. Anticipate further upgrades and changes such as notification improvements as the beta testing progresses, with the full Android 16 launch scheduled for June. To participate in the beta testing, you will need a Pixel phone (Pixel 6 or newer) and enrollment in the free Android Beta Program, though bugs and crashes are common in beta versions, so caution is advised. Stay tuned for more exciting features to come with Android 16.
