Oppo has revealed details about the Find N5, potentially rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 outside China. The Find N5 is set to be remarkably slim, leaving space only for a USB-C port, and offers an IPX9 water resistance rating, a rare feature on phones.
The OnePlus Open was a standout foldable phone in 2024, and its successor is expected to bring significant upgrades. Oppo’s Product Manager, Zhou Yibao, shared insights and images of the Oppo Find N5, which hints that the OnePlus Open 2 will likely be a rebranded version of this device. The Find N5 boasts an exceptionally thin design, emphasizing the importance of the charging port space.
This foldable device is anticipated to be the slimmest yet, surpassing competitors like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and potentially even the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Furthermore, the Find N5, and by extension the OnePlus Open 2, offers impressive IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistance ratings, setting it apart from most phones in the market.
While specific dimensions remain undisclosed, it’s expected that the OnePlus Open 2 will outshine the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in thickness and water resistance level. The launch of the Oppo Find N5 is anticipated for February in China, with the OnePlus Open 2 likely to follow suit globally, overshadowing the rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 until its expected release in July.
