Polestar unveils plans for the launch of the new Polestar 7 SUV, expected to debut in late 2026 or early 2027. The latest addition to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup, the Polestar 7 will not replace the Polestar 2 and aims to be a more affordable offering. Positioned as a compact electric SUV, the Polestar 7 will rival models from Tesla, Audi, and Volvo.

The Swedish automaker, previously known for its single-model lineup including the Polestar 2, has been expanding its range with vehicles like the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. The Polestar 7 is set to introduce a new platform with cutting-edge technology, such as 800V architecture and 350kW fast charging capabilities. Priced between £40,000 and £45,000 in the UK, it aims to fill a gap in the market and cater to a wider audience.

CEO Michael Lohscheller emphasizes a shift towards more assertive design language for upcoming Polestar models, with a focus on appealing to a broader consumer base. However, challenges lie ahead, particularly in the US market, where regulatory hurdles and policy changes could impact Polestar’s operations and competitiveness. Despite uncertainties regarding regulations and subsidies, Polestar remains optimistic about its prospects, aiming for a successful year in 2025 while navigating a changing landscape in the electric vehicle industry.
