Sony is set to introduce its first electric vehicle, the Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) Afeela 1, with prices starting at $89,900. The car boasts high levels of autonomy and in-vehicle entertainment, featuring a range of advanced technologies. Residents of California can now pre-order the Afeela 1, set for delivery in mid-2026. The vehicle is equipped with a 91kWh battery pack and 482bhp power output, offering an immersive in-car experience with Sony’s Spatial Sound Technologies. Despite its entertainment features, the Afeela 1 falls behind competitors like Lucid in terms of range and power output. The collaboration between Honda and Sony promises cutting-edge in-car technology, including AI, machine learning, and interactive entertainment experiences. However, the success of the Afeela 1 remains to be seen, especially with advancements in EV technology from other manufacturers expected in the near future.
