Stiiizy, a renowned cannabis retailer in Los Angeles, has recently disclosed a cyber incident that occurred in November 2024, identified as a ransomware attack by researchers. The breach potentially affects a substantial number of customers, with sensitive data such as names, addresses, birth dates, and even photos being compromised. Following an investigation, it was revealed that the attack targeted specific retail locations in California, impacting over 420,000 individuals. The cybercriminal group behind the attack, known as Everest, reportedly leaked the data after Stiiizy refused to meet their ransom demands.
