In a surprising move, Dynabook and NEC have launched new laptop models featuring built-in optical drives, diverging from the trend of prioritizing lightweight portability over physical media playback.
Dynabook’s T series showcases 13th-gen Intel processors, with options like Blu-ray Disc drives in the T9/Y model, while NEC’s Lavie N16 offers DVD Super Multi-Drive technology. The Dynabook laptops come in four configurations, offering various processor options, RAM capacities, and storage sizes, starting at around $1,046. The Lavie N16, on the other hand, offers three configurations powered by different processors, starting at about $1,013.
These new releases aim to cater to users who still value optical drives in their laptops, providing a blend of modern technology with traditional features.
