A new SMishing campaign has been uncovered by Zimperium research, using sophisticated PDF files to impersonate the United States Postal Service (USPS) in an attempt to steal login credentials. The complex PDF structure includes a malicious link cleverly embedded to avoid detection. The attackers initiate the scam with SMS messages, sidestepping email security measures, and luring recipients to a fake landing page to disclose sensitive information. This demonstrates a growing trend of phishing attacks extending beyond email, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive cybersecurity education for businesses.
