The latest major update, Windows 11 24H2, encounters a new bug affecting audio output due to Dirac Audio software, leading to a complete lack of sound from affected devices. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue along with another problem related to Auto HDR. The bug, directly linked to the Dirac Audio software, has prompted Microsoft to temporarily block the 24H2 update installation on devices running Dirac to prevent further complications. While a fix for the bug is currently unavailable, Microsoft is collaborating with Dirac to release an updated audio software version. Once the new driver is released and the issue is resolved, the update block will be lifted. Despite facing multiple bugs with the 24H2 update, Microsoft aims to enhance Windows 11, especially with Windows 10 reaching its End of Life next October. Windows 11 users are hopeful for a smoother experience in the future.
