A recent OneStream report has highlighted that CEOs and CFOs are well aware of the overwhelming nature of data on workers, recognizing the importance of data-driven decision-making for organizational success. The study reveals that data overload is hindering businesses’ ability to effectively leverage AI, with 69% of CFOs feeling unable to prioritize growth due to excessive data volumes. Despite this, a majority of leaders believe AI and automation will significantly reshape finance functions in the next decade.

Challenges lie ahead for businesses, as many CFOs identify silos, legacy systems, and skills gaps as barriers to growth. The report suggests that AI- and ML-enhanced unified data systems can help streamline data processes and drive timely decision-making. By leveraging technology to create a single source of truth, CFOs can transform data challenges into growth opportunities.

In a troubled economic landscape for the UK, where slower GDP growth, inflation, and job market challenges loom, the need to effectively manage data and leverage AI becomes even more critical for businesses to sustain growth.
