On the 10th day of the 12 Days of OpenAI, a new and more accessible way to interact with ChatGPT has been introduced. Users can now engage with ChatGPT through WhatsApp and a toll-free phone number, bringing AI to landline devices. By texting 1-800-242-8478 on WhatsApp or dialing 1-800-CHATGPT, users can communicate with ChatGPT in a conversational manner similar to the free tier on the mobile app or website. However, some features like online searches or image analysis are not available on WhatsApp. Users can also interact with a human-like female voice through phone calls, resembling ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode. This move by OpenAI aims to make ChatGPT globally accessible, showcasing the integration of AI into various communication channels. Limits exist in both WhatsApp and phone interactions, with a daily message limit on WhatsApp and a 15-minute monthly time cap for phone conversations in the U.S. OpenAI’s innovative approach is expected to continue as the event progresses.
