The Philips Hue Sync TV app is expanding its compatibility to include 2024 LG TVs. This app, previously available on Samsung TVs since 2022, allows Philips Hue lights to synchronize with movies, games, and more. Coming at a cost of $129.99, the app will now be supported on LG’s latest models with webOS 24 onwards, including popular TVs like the LG C4 OLED TV. Along with a Philips Hue Bridge and lighting options, such as LED Gradient Strips for TV, users can enhance their viewing experience by syncing lighting with their TV content. The app supports HDR formats like Dolby Vision and 8K resolution and offers an alternative to Philips’ Ambilight TVs, not available in the US. While the expansion is exciting, it does come with added costs, with the total investment exceeding $300. Despite the cost, more viewers can now enjoy Ambilight-style viewing with the Philips Hue Sync app on LG TVs.
