AMD’s Director of Product Management, Ben Conrad, in an interview with Notebookcheck.net, hinted at the future of RDNA 4 technology. While RDNA 4 graphic cards will be available for desktop PCs in March 2025, the prospect of RDNA 4 in laptops seems distant. Conrad’s response indicated a focus on desktop markets for RDNA 4 products, with future integration into mobile devices. This suggests that gaming laptops in 2025 will likely feature Nvidia’s RTX 5000 GPUs, as AMD’s plans for discrete RDNA 4 offerings for laptops remain uncertain. Despite this, advancements like Strix Halo in AMD’s APUs are expected to bring exciting developments to thinner gaming laptops with integrated graphics. While speculation surrounds future GPU technologies, AMD’s current focus on desktop GPUs suggests that RDNA 4 may remain exclusive to that market for the foreseeable future.
