BlackBerry, once known for its business smartphones, has transitioned into a major player in automotive technology with its QNX platform. The company has now partnered with Microsoft to innovate the development of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs). By collaborating on integrating BlackBerry’s software tools into Microsoft Azure cloud platform, the development process for automakers will be streamlined. This partnership aims to enhance the efficiency of building, testing, and refining automotive software with the QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 8.0. The collaboration will also extend to incorporate innovative technology like Microsoft Azure AI, QNX Hypervisor virtual machine software, and QNX Cabin reference architecture to advance the creation of next-generation connected and autonomous vehicles. The aim is to shorten the time-to-market for these software-defined vehicles and drive forward automotive innovation.
