Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming service currently does not allow new subscribers to sign up for any of its plans. According to reports, day passes will be available again in approximately two weeks, while it may take longer for monthly and biannual subscriptions to return due to Nvidia’s transition to a new payment system. The disruption is because Nvidia is shifting from a third-party payment processor to an in-house system, a process expected to last at least 5 weeks. Existing subscribers will not be billed during this period until January 31, 2025.
Despite the inconvenience for those wanting to join or renew their subscriptions, Nvidia’s decision to bring payment services in-house indicates a long-term commitment to the service. It remains unclear if current subscribers will need to update payment information. The recent halt in most subscription plans was likely due to high server demand, making the timing of the payment transition seem questionable. However, this period of instability is expected to be temporary, and GeForce Now aims to resume normal operations soon.
